I remember the first time I left my son, Blake, with my husband. He tried to give him a bottle, something we thought would be simple.
Instead, he refused it completely.
We tried everything. Different bottles, different nipples, different feeding positions. My husband tried feeding him. Other family members tried. But if I wasn’t there to nurse him, he simply wouldn’t eat.
Our days revolved around feeding time and whether I could be there for it. Planning literally anything for our family felt stressful. It was especially hard for my husband, who wanted to help and share those bonding moments with our son, but couldn’t.
I hold a degree in biology and worked in research for more than a decade, and because of that, I started looking into the research around infant feeding and bonding.
What I discovered was just how much babies rely on their mother’s scent to recognize comfort and safety.
And that was it! The lightbulb I needed to create a solution for families everywhere.
If you’re experiencing bottle refusal, just know you’re not alone. I’ve been there, and so have many others.
My hope is that bottle-lovey® helps bring some freedom back into your day and makes feeding feel easier for your whole family.
